Here we have the Wii. A white rectangular prism made of pure, uncontaminated SUCK. Nah, I exaggerate. It’s an okay system, I suppose, even though the graphics are barely better than last generation’s. The whole motion sensitive feature of the Wiimote is pretty cool as well. However, one part of the problem is that the Wii lacks GAMES. What the Wii has an overabundance of cannot be called games. What they are are a collection of waste and devious devices of torture cultivated from the deepest bowels of Hell, shaped into discs and distributed.

Pure EVIL.

Pure EVIL.

Sure, you get a few gems here and there like Mario Galaxy and Twilight Princess (Not to mention I hear Tatsunoko vs Capcom is going to be a Wii exclusive as well), but right now a hardcore Nintendo fan’s life consists of slogging through a constant wave of Cooking Mama games and God knows what else.

The only reason Nintendo is leading in the console war is that instead of focusing on that small demographic, the hardcore Nintendo gamers who have stuck by them through their crappy one-big-name-title-a-year-Gamecube days. The hardcore gamers have been completely abandoned while Nintendo focuses on appeasing the legions of soccer moms and casual gamers that flock to buy their consoles because you can “swing your arm to hit a ball” or whatever. GO PLAY REAL TENNIS THEN YOU LAZY IDIOTS! Christ. Picture break!

Nintendo's New Target Demographic

Nintendo’s New Target Demographic

Iwata and Miyamoto, you guys better shape up soon and start churning out some quality titles or I’m going to write more scathing reviews about your company. And you just know that as you sit there reading my blog post while swimming through a pile of fat sacks of cash with a Japanese supermodel hanging onto each arm that a lone tear will crawl down your cheek. BEWARE. Now I shall be seeking refuge under the wing of a more dependable company whose name starts with an S and ends in ONY.

tl;dr, Nintendo sucks, long live Sony. Now here’s a picture of a bunny with a pancake on its head.

Bunny with Pancake.

It’s a bunny. With a pancake on its head.

So what do you think about the Wii? Good or bad console? Do you think Nintendo should go back to their hardcore gaming roots and please the real gamers, or keep focusing on the casual crowd just to make money?

  1. Wii is indeed overated, with advertisements such as “family friendly” and “exercising”. While these are not very true. Exercising your right arm? Wowww. PS3 (sony) is so much better, imo, in so many ways. Graphic wise, no contest at all! More games. More quality. Probably most the gaming teenage people between 12~25 still stick with Sony, but those children are more attracted to WII because of the games being advertised, as well as parents thinking it a better system for a child. But in fact, the game console of PS3 in similar, if not better in ability to WII.

  2. i think the wii is a great exercise machine. (yes exercise machine) It encourages people to get active. It could have been a much bigger hit if it had better games though. Many of there games are terrible (petz, animal crossing) until the game comes where it starts appealing more to teenagers the xbox 360 is clearly better.

  3. I agree.
My brother owns a Wii and I can play it nearly anytime I want but I choose not to because there’s like no good games (through my eyes, atleast). And yeah, if you want exercise then play a real sport..

Btw, that’s quite a picture.. ‘It’s a bunny with a pancake on its head.’

(P.S. Xbox for the win. *runs away really fast*)

  4. I think the Wii is one of the best game consoles so far. It is a combination of a gaming system and a workout machine. The graphics are pretty awsome and so are the controls. My favortie game on the Wii is NHL 2K9.

  5. wow.. good job, I hit a button and it posted… anyway… wabbitz are cute… and yea.. I have a Wii and It gets very boring over time, and there are no really fun games. I agree with terry.. Xbox for the win *Slowly canters away*

  6. i disagree the wii is awesome and has lots of fun games. It also is a gamecube so you play and those games too.

  7. i think the wii is good but its not a good relaxing console. when i wake up i like to relax and play xbox 360 but with the wii u have to be moving. other than that i think it is a good console but they should go back to the other consoles that they have created

The wii sucks. Ps3 and xbox are a lot funner. The wii has bad graphics, and it is overrated.

  8. I sort of think the wii sucks because i suck at moving the control around the screen because my hand is really unsteady. Also some of the wii’s games are for three year olds like Harvest Moon that nobody plays. So in general Wii sucks and anyone thinking of getting one get a PS3

  9. I really like the wii, it’s a lot of fun. Even though im not an intense gamer like you Etienne, the wii has a lot of fun games!

  10. I think that Wii is pretty boring after like 5 minutes i play, even if I played a different game, they are almost all the same.
Like that game Wario smooth moves, god that game was awful. Ps3 and 360 are the good consoles. I dont hate Wii but it doesnt even have a DVD player in it.

  11. what does a bunny with a pancake on its head have to do with wii?

  12. C’mon, Mr Barrett, I thought this was supposed to be a fun thing :/

And my opinion of fun is to be a bit random within my posts.

I suppose the answer to your question would be “nothing”, but then again I thought that was already quite clear within my post.

  13. no i dont think that etienne because nintendo is cool that way
